Product Updates (Effective 1/1/2024)

Health New England reviews our benefit plans each year. The below outlines the upcoming changes our Members are seeing during open enrollment. Each plan year has an effective plan date of January 1, 2024.

Medicare Advantage:

Health New England is closing the Choice (HMO) plan effective 12/31/2023. In addition, below are some copay changes and reminders:

Benefit Changes:

Value (HMO) with Rx:

• Urgent Care: Copay reduced from $60 to $55
• Pulmonary Rehab: Copay reduced from $20 to $15

Baystate Health Preferred (HMO) with Rx:

• Pulmonary Rehab: Copay reduced from $20 to $15

Compass (PPO) with Rx:

• Urgent Care: Copay reduced from $60 to $55
• Pulmonary Rehab: Copay reduced from $20 to $15
• Primary Care Visit (PCP): Copay reduced from $10 to $0

Reminders:

• Preventive care: For our Medicare Advantage members, their preventive benefit covers the annual well-care visit and an annual physical exam for $0 copay.
  • The Annual Physical Exam includes a head-to-toe exam that addresses overall physical health.
  • The Annual Well-Care Visit is an opportunity to talk with their Primary Care Provider (PCP) about overall health goals and concerns and develop a personalized prevention plan.

• Mom’s Meals: Mom’s Meals is available for members discharged from Inpatient Care, Skilled Nursing Facility, Rehab, or Outpatient Joint Replacement Surgery.* For Rehab or Outpatient Joint Replacement Surgery, please reference the Member’s benefit plan for eligibility.
