Telehealth Services Payment Policy
Health New England remains committed to high quality of care for our members, and we recognize the importance of delivering care through telehealth services. Telehealth is proven to be beneficial in improving access to appointments.
Effective for dates of services on or after July 1, 2024, Health New England’s Telehealth Services Payment Policy reflects updates that align with the guidance of the Division of Insurance. It also explains the reimbursement structure applicable to the modality of providing certain services. For services rendered to Health New England’s Commercial members via telehealth, we will reimburse at 80% of the in-person rate, unless otherwise stated in your contract, with the exception of services provided by our Behavioral Health providers — their reimbursement will remain at 100% of the in-person rate. These reimbursement rates are pursuant to members’ benefit plans. For more details on the upcoming changes, please review the policy at healthnewengland.org/Providers/Resources.
