Nutritional Counseling Benefit

Health New England offers a nutritional counseling benefit to our Commercial Fully Funded Members. With this benefit, a Prior Authorization is not required for these members, but there are limitations with visits. For this benefit, we approve our member for 4 visits per calendar year. We will not authorize visits beyond this timeframe.
When a visit is performed via telehealth, it still applies towards the 4-visit limit. Please note that whether you provide services to our members in person or via telehealth for this benefit, if the number of visits is above the allowed amount, possible retraction of payment may occur.
