New Radiology Management Partner-effective December 1, 2010

Beginning December 1, 2010, HNE will partner with MedSolutions, Inc (MSI) for radiology management. MSI will replace our current radiology management vendor, National Imaging Associates (NIA). MSI is well known in Massachusetts, and many of you already have worked with MSI when ordering advanced imaging studies for patients with other insurance coverage.
HNE is working together with MSI to ensure a smooth transition. As with NIA, MSI will:
- Review all CT, MR, PET and nuclear cardiology studies for clinical appropriateness
- Approve, deny or suggest alternative studies.
HNE is excited to be partnering with an organization like MSI who shares our commitment to excellent customer service. MSI’s web portal and phone access streamline the process of requesting advanced imaging studies. Since all MSI imaging guidelines are on their website, you will find the authorization process more transparent. Those providers who earned a gold card during HNE’s eight year relationship with NIA will need to continue to register imaging requests through MSI to assure that services occur in the HNE network.
Over the next month HNE Provider Relations and MSI representatives will contact you with details about the December 1, 2010 transition. Of course, any study approved by NIA prior to December 1st will remain authorized.
