Reminder for Diabetic Eye Exams for Medicare Members

Attention Providers and Practice Managers:

We are looking for your help to reinforce the importance of Diabetic Eye Exams for your diabetic patients who have Health New England Medicare Advantage coverage. Please encourage them to schedule their annual diabetic eye exam in 2026.

Diabetic eye exams are covered under the Medical portion of their Health New England Medicare Advantage health plan (copay may apply).

Please note: At the appointment, they must use their Health New England member ID card—not their NationsBenefits card. These medical services are not part of the vision/prescription eyewear benefit through NationsBenefits/NationsVision.
