Acute Hospital Care at Home

As a regional, provider-owned health plan, Health New England knows the importance of the relationship between our members and their doctors. We also strive to improve the health and lives of the people in our communities. However, with the public health emergency and so many hospitals in the region overstretched and burdened, it is not always easy for our elderly members to receive the immediate care they need. To help, we have decided, until further notice, to follow the guidelines detailed in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Acute Hospital Care at Home Program for our Medicare product line (https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/press-releases/cms-announces-comprehensive-strategy-enhance-hospital-capacity-amid-covid-19-surge).
