Life on Demand

Now, anyone who knows me will tell you how much I lu lu love the heat! Summery hot weather is fantastic! I don’t even complain about the thermal tunnel of meltitude that hits you as you enter the airwalk leading you from the workplace to your car.
But today….ahh….today was just not MY day. Even last week when I went out to the driveway and discovered someone STOLE MY LICENSE PLATES off my car…even then I managed to stick to the plan. But today, for no real discernible reason, I abandoned my plan. I will blame it on the heat. No, I shall blame it on the humidity. You know how it goes: it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity!
I walked to the car, drove home, let the dogs out, watered the recently/carefully placed yet droopy daisies…ate a fat free-sugar free-gluten free fudgsicle…ok, I ate two…and sat down. You see, I was still planning on the workout until that last part. It’s not feeding the dogs or starting a load of laundry or even an ingredient-free snack that puts the brakes on the best plans – it’s the sitting down.
The only part that bothers me is the calendar countdown that winks at me from my computer monitors and cell phone. 81 days and counting. I can’t believe a day off (even two) and a fudgsicle (even two) will keep me from the finish line.

Oh my goodness…you ARE human! I was beginning to wonder.
Everybody deserves a day-off. Rest is the ultimate gift you can give yourself:-)
Enjoyed your blog postings and really liked your writing style. As much as I enjoy stopping by to get your training updates, I’ll continue to be an avid reader during your countdown to race day. And thanks for a little inspiration – this heat and humidity has been making me a bit lazy during my runs.
I agree w/Maura, it IS nice to know you eat a (2)fudgsicle! I know w/your determination, you will met your destination!
