“You train people how to treat you by how you treat yourself.”

Think about all the times you worry about what other people think about you…the way you look, your clothes, whether you are heavy or skinny…
What a waste of time and energy…and frankly, people are too torqued up about themselves to worry about your muffin top, love handles or skinny arms. While you scrutinize and judge yourself you are training everyone to see you that way…especially if you’re verbalizing it to everyone.
Starting today – pay more attention to the way you talk about yourself. Training for improved health and fitness is hard and it’s physical. But there’s no way you can do it successfully for the long term without having a wonderful relationship with yourself first. You really have to love yourself. (Strong words make strong actions.) Why else would you wake up two hours early to go for a walk, or make time for the gym when the laundry pile is up to your knees, or push through the excuses about weather, chores or aches and pains?
It’s time to stop self-bashing!
I’m such a loser…I never finish anything…I’m so fat/skinny/lazy…. You’d never let anyone talk about your child or your best friend that way. You should at least treat yourself as well as you treat your family cat or dog (don’t you use a nice tone of voice and soothing words to them? – good boy! pretty girl!)
Time to train yourself first… love yourself, see how fit, strong and beautiful you are and you know what? Everyone else will too!
