Health New England is pleased to announce the launch of our Laboratory Management Program. We have partnered with eviCore healthcare to provide prior authorizations of certain outpatient Molecular and Genomic tests. Effective, October 1, 2017, ordering providers must contact eviCore to obtain prior authorization for the molecular and genomic tests. The performing laboratory may also initiate a prior authorization request on behalf of the referring physician and must validate that an authorization is on file prior to performing the test.<\/p>\n
The web portal will be available for providers and laboratories to begin requesting authorization for\u00a0genomic lab testing effective September 25, 2017 for dates of service beginning October 01, 2017.<\/p>\n
The Laboratory Management Program will use established evidence-based criteria leveraging eviCore\u2019s extensive experience in Molecular and Genomic testing to ensure that appropriate testing is being ordered. All clinical guidelines and criteria for the laboratory management program can be accessed by visiting eviCore\u2019s website at:\u00a0www.evicore.com<\/a>.
