Some\u00a0adults 18 years and older feel\u00a0the same way and avoid getting\u00a0important vaccines. They falsely\u00a0believe the vaccines they got as\u00a0children last a lifetime. This is\u00a0wrong. It is critically important\u00a0for many adults to get vaccines\u00a0because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They may not have been\u00a0vaccinated as a child.<\/li>\n<li>They may not have had access\u00a0to new vaccines now available.<\/li>\n<li>Vaccine strength fades\u00a0over time.<\/li>\n<li>Adults may be more likely\u00a0to get a serious disease\u00a0caused by an infection as\u00a0they get older.<\/li>\n<li>They could pass an\u00a0infection on to a baby or\u00a0an older adult who cannot\u00a0get vaccinated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember, adults need vaccines\u00a0as much as kids do!<\/p>\n<p>Talk to your doctor or nurse to\u00a0see if or when you need to get\u00a0any of these vaccines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chickenpox<\/li>\n<li>Flu<\/li>\n<li>Hepatitis A<\/li>\n<li>Hepatitis B<\/li>\n<li>Haemophilus influenzae\u00a0type b (Hib)<\/li>\n<li>Meningococcal<\/li>\n<li>Pneumococcal<\/li>\n<li>Tetanus and diphtheria<\/li>\n<li>Human Papillomavirus<\/li>\n<li>Zoster (Shingles)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Children aren\u2019t the only ones who\u00a0may think they\u2019re invincible.
