The mission of Survivor Journeys is to provide emotional, social and educational support services to cancer survivors, their families and caregivers through a community-based support network.<\/p>\n<p>Survivor Journeys\u2019 network consists of professionals\u00a0from diverse clinical and community backgrounds\u00a0including physicians,\u00a0 behavioral health specialists,\u00a0integrative treatment providers, cancer survivors and\u00a0community leaders. Survivor Journeys is dedicated\u00a0to providing cancer survivors and their loved\u00a0ones with unique survivorship services in western\u00a0Massachusetts, northern Connecticut and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Established in March of 2015 by Dr. Jay Burton after\u00a0his own journey through Acute Myeloid Leukemia,\u00a0Survivor Journeys is a non-profit organization affiliated with Springfield Medical Associates\u2019 Primary\u00a0Care Cancer Survivorship Program.<\/p>\n<p>Survivor Journeys supports adult cancer survivors and their loved ones with the following confidential and free services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cancer-specific support groups<\/li>\n<li>Caregiver support groups<\/li>\n<li>Adult cancer survivor and caregiver mentoring program with access to over 10,000 mentors nationwide<\/li>\n<li>Cancer Survivorship 101, an annual educational event about topics essential to living with cancer &#8211; before, during and after treatment<\/li>\n<li>Community-based referrals and outreach programs<\/li>\n<li>Professional development workshops and presentations<\/li>\n<li>Free transportation to support groups<\/li>\n<li>Pet therapy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about how Survivor Journeys can help you or a loved one, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/survivorjourneys.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survivorjourneys.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because no one should have to travel their cancer journey alone \u2013 this is why Survivor Journeys was established.
