{"id":6317,"date":"2017-11-06T15:45:09","date_gmt":"2017-11-06T15:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/member\/?p=6317"},"modified":"2017-11-06T15:50:43","modified_gmt":"2017-11-06T15:50:43","slug":"quitting-is-winning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hnetalk.com\/member\/quitting-is-winning\/","title":{"rendered":"Quitting is Winning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>An employer story told by <a href=\"http:\/\/dffcorp.com\/\">DFF<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As part of DFF&#8217;s Wellness Program with <a href=\"http:\/\/healthnewengland.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health New England<\/a>, our employees were offered a Carbon Monoxide Screening. One of our employees, Jeff Boulay took advantage of the screening. After receiving his results he decided it was time to quit smoking. Jeff smoked one in a half to two packets of cigarettes per day for the past 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>Maria Garrity from Health New England\u2019s wellness team provided Jeff the screening and gave him information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvs.com\/minuteclinic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CVS Minute Clinic<\/a> to get him the help that he needed. The Minute Clinic prescribed him Chantix and Jeff now has been smoke-free since December 5, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff is the father of six children, ages running from 2-15 years old. Besides the cost savings, he has noticed many other <a href=\"https:\/\/hnetalk.com\/member\/what-are-the-immediate-rewards-of-quitting-smoking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immediate rewards of quitting smoking<\/a>\u00a0such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>increased energy<\/li>\n<li>food tasting better<\/li>\n<li>no longer likes the smell of smoke<\/li>\n<li>does not have to plan his life around smoking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jeff is hoping at his next Carbon Monoxide Screening that his lung function will be near or at normal.
