One major reason\u00a0is that between 50 and 70 percent of seasonal\u00a0flu-related hospitalizations in the United States\u00a0occur in people 65 years and older. An annual\u00a0seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to reduce\u00a0the chance that you will get the flu and spread\u00a0it to others.<\/p>\n<p>One benefit of receiving the flu shot is that your\u00a0illness may be milder if you do get sick. This will\u00a0reduce the risk of more serious flu outcomes.\u00a0Flu vaccinations are an important preventive tool\u00a0for people with chronic health conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Health New England covers the flu vaccination\u00a0for all of our members with a $0 copayment\u00a0with an in-plan provider. If an in-plan provider\u00a0charges you out of pocket for any reason, simply\u00a0mail in your proof of payment and the copy of\u00a0the bill, and Health New England will reimburse\u00a0you in full.<\/p>\n<p>You can get a flu shot at your doctor\u2019s office\u00a0or at a participating pharmacy.
