We cover ambulance transportation to the nearest hospital that can provide the care you need, as well as transfer from one health care facility to another.*<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-255\" title=\"ambulance_opt\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/03c4283.netsolhost.com\/member\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/ambulance_opt-300x200.jpg?resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Does HNE cover air ambulance?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, HNE covers air ambulance services in the case of a life threatening emergency. Non-life threatening services must be pre-approved by HNE.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is non-emergency transportation covered?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, under certain circumstances. Non-emergency transportation must be pre-approved by HNE. HNE covers ambulance or chair van services for a Member from a hospital setting to their home or to a skilled nursing facility. HNE cover these services when the Member cannot be safely transferred without endangering his<br \/>\nor her health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What ambulance services are not covered? <\/strong><br \/>\nHNE does not cover transportation by ambulance or by chair van:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For patient convenience<\/li>\n<li>For non-clinical, non-medical reasons<\/li>\n<li>For transportation to receive medical care that could be planned ahead of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>*Read your Summary Plan Description (SPD) or Explanation of Coverage (EOC) document for complete details of this benefit.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Does HNE cover ambulance services?
