Each day this week visit my blog to get ideas for outdoor activities!\u00a0 And check out my pumpkin carving safety tips at the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>Take a hike in the park, enjoy the foliage and have the kids collect some leaves of all shapes and sizes. Be sure to bring some plastic\/paper bags with you to put the leaves in. Pack some healthy snacks to share when you are taking a break and collecting the leaves!<\/p>\n<p>When you get home you and your family can make leaf rubbings. Here are the materials that you will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leaves<\/li>\n<li>Plain white paper<\/li>\n<li>Crayons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now you are ready to give it a try:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Take the leaves you have collected<\/li>\n<li>Get a piece of plain white paper and put the leaves (vein side up) in any pattern that you like.<\/li>\n<li>Put another piece of plain white paper over the top of your leaves<\/li>\n<li>Pick out the crayons, one color or all of your favorite colors, and peel off the wrappers.<\/li>\n<li>Using the side of the crayon gently rub over the top piece of the white paper<\/li>\n<li>The image of the leaves will come through on the paper!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I framed and hung\u00a0one of my daughter&#8217;s leaf rubbings and it makes me think of fall in New\u00a0England all year long.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t forget to take my quick weekly quiz to see how much you have learned today.
