Award recognizes ongoing reinvestment in local communities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Springfield, MA (March 14, 2025)<\/em> \u2013 Health New England is proud to be named Nonprofit of the Year by the Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce as part of the Chamber\u2019s 2025 Shining Star Awards. This recognition highlights Health New England\u2019s ongoing commitment to supporting nonprofit organizations that strengthen the well-being of communities across Western Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

As the region\u2019s hometown not-for-profit health plan, Health New England partners with local organizations, social service agencies, and wellness initiatives to help address the social factors that impact health. The company reinvests nearly $500,000 annually into programs that support food security, education, senior services, and overall wellness in Chicopee and surrounding cities and towns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nonprofit organizations we are privileged to support play a vital role in improving the social aspects of health in Western Massachusetts,\u201d said Judith Danek, Director of the Office of the President and Government Relations at Health New England. \u201cTheir tireless efforts make a profound impact, and we are honored to stand alongside them in this mission.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Danek and Shawn Thamert, Vice President and Chief Growth Officer at Health New England, accepted the award at the Chicopee Chamber\u2019s 40th Annual Shining Stars Gala on February 28.<\/p>\n

In its announcement of the award, the Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce stated:<\/p>\n
