The new plan is available starting January 1, 2023 to Medicare-eligible people in Hampden and Hampshire Counties who have or choose a Baystate Medical Practices primary care provider (PCP).<\/p>\n<p>Because Baystate Health owns Health New England, the organizations built this plan together to leverage their unique ability to coordinate members\u2019 care and coverage. Medicare Advantage plans offer an alternative to traditional Medicare and focus on providing high-quality care. Many of these plans provide comprehensive medical and prescription drug coverage and may include added benefits such as dental, vision care, fitness and other supplemental benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Hampden and Hampshire County residents can <a href=\"https:\/\/healthnewengland.org\/medicare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enroll here<\/a> during Medicare\u2019s Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 to December 7, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with our colleagues at Health New England, we created this plan to provide seamless care and coverage for patients of Baystate Medical Practices\u2019 primary care providers,\u201d said Marion McGowan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Baystate Health. \u201cThe plan brings the peace of mind that comes with knowing your health care providers and your health plan are working together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new Baystate Health Preferred HMO plan brings the power of integration between health plan and health care provider to our members.
