You\u2019re Covered."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vacation can be relaxing and great fun. But, what if you get sick or hurt while you\u2019re away? Don\u2019t worry, Health New England has you covered.*<\/p>\n<p>We cover medical emergencies, urgent care, and prescription drugs outside of the Health New England service area. Our worldwide emergency coverage includes stabilization care and post-stabilization care at the direction of your treating physician. We also cover ambulance transportation if other means of transport would endanger your health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Before you go<br \/>\n<\/strong>Prior to leaving for vacation, be sure to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Book necessary appointments with your primary care provider (PCP) for routine care, laboratory tests, screenings and prescription refills.<\/li>\n<li>Get any required vaccinations before traveling outside the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Pack enough medications for your trip.<\/li>\n<li>Take your PCP\u2019s phone number.<\/li>\n<li>Pack your insurance ID card.<\/li>\n<li>Set up Teladoc<span style=\"font-size: 75%; vertical-align: super;\">\u00ae<\/span> account ahead of time.**<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What to do if you need care<\/h2>\n<p><strong><em>Non-emergency medical issues:<\/em><\/strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em>Consult your PCP first, whenever possible. However, if you can\u2019t reach your doctor, Health New England offers other options:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teladoc**<\/strong> \u2014 Request a phone or online consultation with a U.S. board-certified physician to treat non-emergency medical issues such as colds and the flu, bronchitis, allergies, rashes and more. Learn more at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthnewengland.org\/Teladoc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">healthnewengland.org\/Teladoc<\/a> or call 1-800-Teladoc. The member cost ranges from $0 to $50 copay, depending on your plan. (Teladoc is available for most Health New England members; however, some employer groups do not participate in the Teladoc benefit.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nurse Advice Line<\/strong> \u2014 Free health advice is available from experienced registered nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling Health New England\u2019s health information line at (866) 389-7613. A team of medical professionals is available to answer questions about your health, help you determine whether to seek additional care, and address medication questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Emergency situations:<\/em><\/strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em>If you have a true medical emergency, call 911 (in the U.S.) or go to the nearest emergency room (ER) immediately. Be aware that you\u2019ll be responsible for paying your ER copay\/deductible. (Outside the U.S.: You may be required to pay out-of-pocket for emergency medical services. Your plan will reimburse you for qualified*** emergency medical expenses minus any applicable copay\/deductible.)<\/p>\n<p>*<em>In accordance with your plan benefits. All services require prior approval and are subject to the terms of your Explanation of Coverage (EOC). Routine care, medical evacuation and repatriation are not covered.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>**Teladoc is available to Health New England fully funded, self-funded, Medicare Advantage and BeHealthy Partnership plan members. Some self-funded plan members are not eligible.
