Using Your Health New England Medicare Cards

As a Health New England Medicare Advantage member, you’ve received two new cards for 2026. The image above shows information about when to use your Medicare Advantage Member ID Card to access your benefits and when to use your Additional Benefits Card, also known as the Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card from NationsBenefits®, to access your allowances.
Medicare Advantage Member ID Card vs. Additional Benefits Card
1 Vision and Hearing Benefits: You must see a NationsVision or NationsHearing provider to use these benefits. Find a Vision Provider at hne.nationsbenefits.com/vision. Find a Hearing Provider at hne.nationsbenefits.com/hearing. Or, call NationsBenefits at (877) 465-9035, 8:00 a.m.– 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, seven days a week.
2 Prescription Eyewear Benefit: Members of Medicare Advantage HMO Premium, Plus and Value with Rx plans and PPO Compass plan get a $300 point of service benefit for prescription eyewear every one calendar year. For Medicare Advantage HMO Premium No Rx and Basic No Rx plans, members get a $200 point of service benefit every two years. Covered items include eyeglasses (lenses and/or frames) and contact lenses. Please note: You do not use your Additional Benefits Card for this benefit. This benefit is applied at point of service when obtained from an in-network NationsVision provider.
3 Over-the-Counter (OTC) Care Items Allowance: You have access to a variety of brand-name and generic health and wellness products with your OTC benefit. Every three months, credits are added to your OTC benefit on your Additional Benefits Card. OTC credits expire at the end of each quarter. Use your OTC allowance credits to purchase OTC products from certain retail locations or by ordering from the NationsBenefits website, app or catalog.
4 Transportation Allowance: Transportation must be to in-plan providers, facilities, pharmacies via one-way taxi, ride-share, bus, subway, van, or medical transport. Prior approval for transportation is required by calling NationsBenefits at (877) 465-9035, 8:00 a.m.– 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, seven days a week. NationsBenefits will arrange your transportation.
5 Wellness/Fitness Activities Allowance: Allowances apply to gym membership, training fees, fitness classes and apps, golf greens fees, ski lift tickets, exercise equipment and devices, activity tracker.
