Semi-Annual Notice of Changes – Effective July 1, 2018

Dear Health New England Member:
As we do two times each year, we are notifying you of some changes to your Plan. Some of these changes are driven by regulation, some aim to improve your experience, and others are intended to control rising health care costs. Unless otherwise noted, these changes become effective July 1, 2018.
Below is an amendment to your Health New England Explanation of Coverage. This amendment outlines changes to certain benefits and programs that are part of the standard benefit plan.
• Prior Approval for items listed under the benefit for Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
• Assignment of a Primary Care Provider (PCP)
• Additional items that qualify for Health New England’s Wellness Reimbursement Program
• Ultraviolet light and cabinets are not a covered benefit
• Enhanced program for the safe use of opioid medications
• Online access to pharmacy information through OptumRx (Health New England’s pharmacy benefits manager)
• Prescription drug coverage changes
