This change will take place upon renewal beginning 7\/1\/16. Any large groups that renew after 6\/30\/16 will no longer be offered the benefit.<\/p>\n<p>The Altus benefit is a preventive dental benefit which covers only the following services for children under age 12:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Initial oral examination \u2013 once per dentist<br \/>\n\u2022 Periodic exams \u2013 once every six months<br \/>\n\u2022 X-rays of entire mouth \u2013 once every 60 months or five years<br \/>\n\u2022 Bitewing X-rays \u2013 once every six months when needed<br \/>\n\u2022 Single tooth X-ray \u2013 as needed<br \/>\n\u2022 Routine cleaning, scaling, and polishing of teeth \u2013 once every six months<br \/>\n\u2022 Fluoride treatments \u2013 once every six months<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Please note:<\/em><\/strong> the elimination of our Altus Pediatric Dental Benefit applies to large groups only who had preventive coverage for children under age 12. The Altus EHB Pediatric Dental Benefit, a different benefit package, designed for small employer groups with children under age 19 will remain in place.<\/p>\n<p>As always, please feel free to reach out to your Health New England account executive with any questions or concerns.
