{"id":8467,"date":"2024-01-12T18:37:57","date_gmt":"2024-01-12T18:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/?p=8467"},"modified":"2024-01-12T18:37:57","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T18:37:57","slug":"update-special-edition-jan-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/update-special-edition-jan-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Acute Care Setting to Skilled Nursing and Acute Rehab Facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Effective January 9 \u2013 April 1, 2024, for our Commercial (fully funded),* BeHealthy Partnership and Medicare Advantage members, Health New England will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allow good faith admissions to skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and acute rehabilitation facilities from the acute care setting without prior authorization.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the initial 7 days of the SNF\/acute rehab stay.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct retrospective and concurrent review during this time period to determine appropriateness of level of care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In addition, the Post Acute Facility (Skilled Nursing Facility\/Acute Rehab) will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Notify Health New England of a good faith admission to their facility with 24 hours of the member\u2019s admission.<\/li>\n<li>Provide updates, at a minimum of every 5 days, to support discharge planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Signed-Healthcare-Capacity-Memo.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here <\/a>to learn more.<\/p>\n<p><em>*This may be applicable to some self-funded employer groups.
