{"id":8354,"date":"2023-08-31T18:02:18","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T18:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/?p=8354"},"modified":"2023-08-31T18:02:18","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T18:02:18","slug":"timely-filing-requirement-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/timely-filing-requirement-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Timely Filing Requirement Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Effective November 1, 2023<\/strong>, Health New England\u2019s filing limits will change unless otherwise noted in your contract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This change will affect the claim submission timeline for all providers doing business with Health New England, except under the Medicare product line.<\/strong> In addition, we will be adjusting some of our filing limits as it pertains to Coordination of Benefits. To understand the changes taking place, please refer to our new <em><strong>Timely Filing Payment Policy<\/strong><\/em>. We will also update our Provider Manual in the Claims Submission and Reimbursement and the Coordination of Benefits and Subrogation sections under Billing &amp; Reimbursement to remove any reference to timeframes and direct you to the new policy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This change will also affect filing limits for all providers who request Health New England to review their claim for a reconsideration of the original decision.<\/strong> Our filing limit will be 180 days or six months from the date of service or date of discharge. Previously, we allowed 365 days or one year from date of service or date of discharge. We are working with the Massachusetts Health Care Administrative Simplification Collaborative to update the Universal Provider Request for Claim Review Reference Guide.
