{"id":7477,"date":"2022-05-28T19:23:10","date_gmt":"2022-05-28T19:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/?p=7477"},"modified":"2022-05-28T19:23:10","modified_gmt":"2022-05-28T19:23:10","slug":"outpatient-short-term-rehabilitation-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/outpatient-short-term-rehabilitation-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Outpatient Short Term Rehabilitation Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Effective July 1, 2022, for our Commercial Members,* Health New England will not cover Occupational and Physical Therapy services for children with developmental delays that are covered by MGL Chapter 71B in Massachusetts (referred to as Chapter 766) or C.G.S.A. \u00a7 10-76a through 10-76g, inclusive, in Connecticut, unless such services are Medically Necessary and meet Health New England\u2019s clinical criteria for such services. Members should obtain services available under Massachusetts law (by seeking a Chapter 766 evaluation) or under Connecticut law.<\/p>\n<p>If such services are not Medically Necessary and do not meet Health New England\u2019s clinical criteria, Members should obtain services available under Massachusetts law (by seeking a Chapter 766 evaluation) or under Connecticut law. Such services can include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adaptive physical education<\/li>\n<li>Physical and occupational therapy<\/li>\n<li>Educational services or testing, except services covered under the benefit for Early Intervention services<\/li>\n<li>Services for problems of school performance<\/li>\n<li>Psychological counseling<\/li>\n<li>Speech and language therapy<\/li>\n<li>Transportation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, educational services or testing, except services covered under the benefit for Early Intervention services are excluded. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>School or sports related physical exams<\/li>\n<li>Services for problem of school performance<\/li>\n<li>Job retraining<\/li>\n<li>Vocational and driving evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Therapy to restore function for a specific occupation<\/li>\n<li>Transportation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>*<em>May be applicable to some Self-Funded plans.
