MSI will replace our current radiology management vendor, National Imaging Associates (NIA).\u00a0\u00a0 MSI is well known in Massachusetts, and many of you already have worked with MSI when ordering advanced imaging studies for patients with other insurance coverage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0HNE is working together with MSI to ensure a smooth transition. As with NIA, MSI will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review all CT, MR, PET and nuclear cardiology studies for clinical appropriateness<\/li>\n<li>Approve, deny or suggest alternative studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0HNE is excited to be partnering with an organization like MSI who shares our commitment to excellent customer service. MSI\u2019s web portal and phone access streamline the process of requesting advanced imaging studies.\u00a0 Since all MSI imaging guidelines are on their website, you will find the authorization process more transparent.\u00a0 Those providers who earned a gold card during HNE\u2019s eight year relationship with NIA will need to continue to register imaging requests through MSI to assure that services occur in the HNE network.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Over the next month HNE Provider Relations and MSI representatives will contact you with details about the December 1, 2010 transition.
