Since the risk of COVID-19 transmission is still prominent, Health New England will continue to cover the testing, treatment and vaccinations as described below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID Testing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will continue to cover COVID-19 testing with no cost share for members who meet these criteria:\n<ul>\n<li>Symptomatic<\/li>\n<li>Recognized by state and local health offices as coming in contact with a person with COVID<\/li>\n<li>Asymptomatic as defined by guidelines established by the state\u2019s Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Department of Public Health, or federal COVID-19 guidelines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We will continue to cover PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and antigen testing for our members who meet the above criteria.<\/li>\n<li>We will cover antibody tests when medically necessary to support the treatment of COVID-19, or when our member has a compromised immune system, and\/or the knowledge of coronavirus antibodies affects future outcome of treatment.<\/li>\n<li>We will not cover antibody testing that is not associated with treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID Treatment*<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will continue to cover all emergency, inpatient services, outpatient services, and cognitive rehabilitation services, including professional, diagnosis, and laboratory services related to COVID-19 provided by an in-network or out-of-network provider without prior authorization.<\/li>\n<li>We will not apply member cost share when your claim includes the appropriate COVID-19 diagnosis, per CDC guidelines, as well as B94.8 (Sequelae of other specified infectious and parasitic disease).<\/li>\n<li>We continue to cover services related to reactions to the COVID vaccine, but member cost share may apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID Vaccine<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will continue cover the COVID-19 vaccine with no member cost share or prior authorization requirements as long as it falls within the guidelines established by federal and state public health officials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>*Some self-funded employer groups have decided not to waive member cost sharing for COVID treatment.
