Health New England\u2019s commitment to providing quality care to our members also requires us to meet obligations set forth by regulatory organizations such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Department of Insurance (DOI). These organizations require health plans to maintain up-to-date provider directory information so our members have access to correct information.<\/p>\n
To maintain accurate information, we rely on our providers to inform us of any changes. In an effort to improve this process, we announced in December 2018 that Health New England is partaking in efforts with HealthCare Administration Solutions (HCAS) participating plans to enable providers to update their demographic information with multiple health plans in a streamlined way using CAQH\u2019s DirectAssure\u00ae. The DirectAssure solution works in concert with CAQH ProView\u00ae, an online database that most providers already use to regularly review and attest to professional and practice information. This data is currently shared with Health New Egnland, as well as other participating health plans, for credentialing purposes. In the future, a similar process will be utilized to share provider directory data with participating health plans.<\/p>\n
Health New England\u2019s implementation is slated for later this year, beginning with a subset of individual and behavioral health providers and increasing over time. While we are working on the implementation of this new solution, we ask that you continue following the existing process to notify us of changes until further notice.<\/p>\n
