{"id":2905,"date":"2016-10-18T19:34:32","date_gmt":"2016-10-18T19:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/?p=2905"},"modified":"2016-10-18T19:34:32","modified_gmt":"2016-10-18T19:34:32","slug":"medicaid-behavioral-health-screening-code-clarification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/provider\/medicaid-behavioral-health-screening-code-clarification\/","title":{"rendered":"Medicaid \u2013 Behavioral Health Screening Code Clarification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please read the following update related to various Health New England programs and changes that may have an impact on your patients and\/or your practice.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPrimary care providers (PCPs) who administer Behavioral Health Screenings for children under age 21:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For dates of service beginning October 31, 2016, MassHealth is instructing PCPs to use only Service Code 96110 and appropriate modifiers to claim for the administration and scoring of behavioral health screenings for children younger than age 21.<\/p>\n<p>Also effective October 31, 2016, MassHealth will be denying claims for Service Code 96127. MassHealth is aware that some providers are currently using Service Code 96127 to claim for behavioral health screening. Any provider using Service Code 96127 to claim for the administration and scoring of the standardized behavioral health screening tools for children under the age of 21 should use Service Code 96110 and the appropriate modifier to claim for such screening.<\/p>\n<p>As a MassHealth MCO, beginning October 31, 2016, Health New England will only accept Service Code 96110 for claims submitted for behavioral health screenings administered to children enrolled in our Be Healthy Plan.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions about the information in this notice, please contact Health New England Provider Relations at (800) 842-4464, extension 5000.
