Once registered on HNEDirect, a provider can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check eligibility<\/li>\n<li>Obtain the patient\u2019s Health New England copay amount to ensure collection of the correct copay at the time of service<\/li>\n<li>Check the status of claims submissions<\/li>\n<li>Check the status of prior approval requests<\/li>\n<li>Submit claims electronically<\/li>\n<li>Access provider reports<\/li>\n<li>Access explanation of payment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe preferred format for claim submission and corrected claim submission is through our online portal, HNEDirect.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you are submitting claims on paper, please follow the below guidelines to ensure accurate and timely claims processing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Type all fields completely<\/li>\n<li>Submit all claims on an original red and white form<\/li>\n<li>Include the word \u2018continue\u2019 when submitting a multi-page paper claim with the total amount on the last page. (Do not \u2018sub-total\u2019 the first page)<\/li>\n<li>Do not use highlighter on any claim form field<\/li>\n<li>Do not submit photo-copied claim forms<\/li>\n<li>Do not submit claim forms via fax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nPlease note that Health New England uses an imaging and capture process for paper claims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Health New England providers can now view up-to-date information online, including claim status, member eligibility and member benefits.
