Ways to Save*
Posted on March 2, 2016
Health New England extends access to a variety of programs and services that can help you save money on your health care costs. The following is just a sampling of ways you can save:
My Advocate™: On behalf of Health New England, My Advocate can help our Medicare Advantage plan members in obtaining financial assistance or social services. My Advocate finds government programs that can assist with payment of an individual’s Medicare Part B premium (a Medicare Savings Program), or assist with prescription drug expenses through Social Security (Extra Help, a low-income subsidy program). My Advocate is a service offered by Altegra Health Operating Company, which is an independent company. This service is voluntary and you are not obligated to provide any information. To learn more, call My Advocate at (844) 794-2302, TTY (855) 368-9643, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., or visit MyAdvocateHelps.com.
Mail Order Pharmacies: Using a mail order pharmacy is a convenient and cost-effective way for you to potentially save money on your prescriptions. Through mail order you can get a 90-day supply of medication delivered to your home, office or location of your choosing. You will minimize trips to the pharmacy and save money on your monthly prescription costs. For example, members can fill tier 1 and tier 2 medications for a three months’ supply and only pay two copays. (Tier 3 medications do not offer a savings.) Review your benefits information for your mail order options.
