So if you defrost chicken for dinner and then decide to go out, what do you do with the chicken? Refreeze it? Cook it the next day?
In order to keep your refrigerator clean it is important to know how long things can last in the refrigerator. Following is a tip sheet from FoodSafety.gov. Be sure to print it out and put it up on your refrigerator!
These short but safe time limits for home-refrigerated foods will keep them from spoiling or becoming dangerous to eat. The guidelines for freezer storage are for quality only. Frozen foods remain safe indefinitely.
