Do You Have A Primary Care Provider?
Posted on January 7, 2022
It is important to have a primary care provider (PCP). PCPs can help you manage your day-to-day health needs. By having a PCP, you can establish a long-term relationship, which in turn will help to keep you healthier and lower your medical costs. Your PCP is the first person you call if you aren’t feeling well or if you have a medical concern that isn’t an emergency. In addition, they can help direct you to get more advanced care when you need it. (PPO plan members are not required to select a PCP; however, having a PCP is highly recommended for continuity of care.)
In-Network Providers
It’s also important to find providers who are in-network for streamlined and coordinated care. Health New England Medicare Advantage has a robust network of providers, from PCPs to specialists, including Baystate Health, spanning throughout Western Massachusetts and into parts of Connecticut and Vermont.
In addition, all Quest Diagnostics Laboratory Drawing Stations in New England are in-network, including in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire. This gives you more convenient locations to have lab work done. Find a nearby Quest Diagnostics location at appointment.questdiagnostics.com/as-home.
