SPRINGFIELD, MA – (November 12, 2020) – Health New England, in partnership with its Community Benefits Advisory Council, announced the recipients of its 2020 Where Health Matters Grant Program today in a virtual awards ceremony. One local non-profit organization was awarded a $50,000 grant, and two local non-profit organizations were awarded a multi-year grant totaling $150,000 each. These grants will be used to implement programs that will improve the health and well-being of vulnerable population groups living in western Massachusetts.
The 2020 grant recipients include the New North Citizens’ Council of Springfield, and Clinical & Support Options (CSO) and The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, both in Hampshire County. Each grant recipient’s program supports one of the focus areas of the Where Health Matters Grant Program that influences health – built environment and care coordination.
“In these unprecedented times, our Where Health Matters Grant Program makes lasting and meaningful impacts on health outcomes, health equity and social determinants of health for our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Richard Swift, President and CEO of Health New England. “We are honored to partner with and empower the three awarded local non-profit organizations that are committed to improving the health and outcomes of our at-risk community members.”
