New Behavioral Health Care Service Available
Posted on June 19, 2019
Taking care of your mental health is an important part of your overall well-being. Health New England is working to make access to behavioral health services a lot easier. Effective July 1, 2019, as a Health New England member, you can take advantage of a new Behavioral Health Care benefit through Teladoc®.*
Similar to the general medical services you already have through Teladoc, you have access to high quality virtual care for a wide variety of behavioral health issues. Get confidential counseling seven days a week for conditions like depression, anxiety, stress, grief, PTSD, marital or family issues, and much more by phone or video.
Teladoc doesn’t offer a crisis hotline. Appointments must be scheduled. Choose to see a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or therapist and establish an ongoing relationship – all without having to travel to or wait at a provider’s office.
Copays for Teladoc Behavioral Health services vary by plan and follow your mental health/behavioral health benefit cost share amounts, so be sure to check your member materials and your Health New England ID card.**
To register, log into the Health New England member portal at my.healthnewengland.org and click on the Teladoc icon.
You can also register and request a Teladoc consultation by calling 1-800-Teladoc (835-2362), going to Teladoc.com/HNE, or downloading the Teladoc mobile app. Be sure to complete your Teladoc registration ahead of time before you actually need behavioral health or medical care. Registration takes approximately 15 minutes per member/dependent.
*Applies to fully funded groups and Health Connector members. Not all employer groups participate in the Teladoc benefit. Please check your plan materials for details.
**For high deductible health plans (HDHP), visits are billed as follows and are applied to your deductible: Psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, counselor or therapist – $80 or less/session; Psychiatrist – $160 or less/initial visit; Psychiatrist – $90 or less/ongoing visit. Once deductible is met, then mental health copay applies.
