Mom’s Meals – Ready to Heat and Eat Meals Delivered
Posted on June 6, 2022
Health New England is partnering with Mom’s Meals® to offer home-delivered, ready-to-heat and eat meals to all Health New England plan members on a self-pay basis with no shipping fees included. The service is effective as of June 1, 2022. Health New England has been working with Mom’s Meals to provide the refrigerated meals at no cost for its eligible Medicare Advantage plan members who are being discharged from an inpatient hospital or skilled nursing facility stay.
Mom’s Meals, the leading provider of home-delivered meals nationwide, is able to deliver a variety of nutritious, condition-specific meals to homes with no shipping charges when using special code HealthNewEngland. A hospital stay is not required.
Dr. Kate McIntosh, vice president and chief medical officer of Health New England, said, “Health New England is pleased to extend this opportunity to our entire member population, in addition to our Medicare Advantage members returning home from the hospital. As many meal delivery services have become popular, we feel that the Mom’s Meals program is a healthy alternative to help our members maintain their health with nutritious, prepared meals, or to help improve their health if they have a condition that requires a special diet.”
The options offered by Mom’s Meals take the guesswork out of adjusting recipes to meet dietary restrictions. Health New England members will find the convenience of home delivery beneficial, particularly those members who might not be able to easily get to a store. Caregivers can also order meals for delivery for their loved ones and trust that they are getting the nutrition they need.
Meals can be ordered at any time on a self-pay basis via the Mom’s Meals website at momsmeals.com/healthnewengland or by calling (877) 347-3438.
