Make a Leaf Pile and Memories That Last A Lifetime!
Posted on October 14, 2014
With all the beauty of the fall foliage also comes the job of raking leaves! This year think of it as something fun to do with your kids. Get everyone involved, no matter how young or old.
Each family member will need a rake of the right size so they can create as big a pile of leaves as they can! Now rake a few of the piles together until you have a huge pile.
Now for the fun part – JUMP IN! That’s right, jump right in. Raking leaves is great exercise – a 150 pound person will burn over 270 calories in 60 minutes by raking – and by making it fun and getting the kids involved you get some help and everyone has fun.
Get out your camera and get some fun fall pics. Here are some fun ideas for pictures:
- Have your child hide in a big old pile of freshly raked leaves
- Click your camera away as child gets a running start and leaps in
- When the kids are done jumping in, encourage them to roll around and toss the leaves up in the air
My daughter always calls me in October and reminds me of the year that we jumped in big leaf piles for her birthday. And it kept most of the activity outside where her friends could burn off all the energy from too much birthday cake!
So, in the spirit of the season, grab your rakes and your camera and get some of those cherished kids-in-the leaf-pile-action!
If you are a scrap booker, be sure to put these pictures together with the leave rubbings as embellishments!
