LAURIE E. GIANTURCO, MDVice President and Senior Medical Director, Health New England

As Senior Medical Director of Health New England, Baystate Health’s managed care company, Dr. Gianturco is involved in all aspects of the organization’s medical issues. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Dr. Gianturco received her BA from Bryn Mawr College and her medical degree from the University of North Carolina. She did her postdoctoral training internship at Washington Hospital Center, and her residency at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. She completed fellowships in Interventional Radiology at Beth Israel Hospital and Body Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She is Board Certified in Radiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
Prior to joining Health New England, Dr. Gianturco was Chair of Radiology at Baystate Medical Center and President of Radiology and Imaging Inc, the largest private radiology practice in Massachusetts.
Dr. Gianturco is currently Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition to her previous positions as Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Course Director for Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology at Baystate Medical Center and at the VA Boston Healthcare systems, Dr. Gianturco has served in a number of leadership positions, including the RSNA Education Exhibits Subcommittee for Nuclear Medicine, the Massachusetts Radiology Society Executive Committee, and the Baycare Board of Directors.
She is a member of the following professional societies: the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, New England Society of Nuclear Medicine, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Advisory Board Physician Practice Roundtable, American Association of Women Radiologists, and the American College of Physician Executives.
Author of numerous articles and abstracts, lecturer and presenter at many conferences and meetings, Dr. Gianturco has led strategic initiatives in the areas of operations and services, fiscal responsibility, quality and safety, patient satisfaction, medical education, and physician management.
Dr. Gianturco has twice been selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America”.
