HNE Leverages Social Media

HNE has had a presence on Facebook and other social networking sites since 2008. Many of you are fans, and if you’re not we encourage you to join! Online social networks are great places for us to interact with you and get your feedback about our services and brand. There are also technological advantages to using some of these social sites that benefit the company and our communications with you.

With the growing popularity of YouTube, Twitter, and HNETalk.com, HNE is able to publish information and communicate to our entire audience easily and quickly.

Following are a few examples of how we use social media:

• We share job postings with area universities and job search sites through RSS feeds and Twitter.
• We post regular provider notices on HNETalk.com/Provider, where we allow providers to choose how they want to subscribe to this information.
• We send out regular broker updates through HNETalk.com.
• We provide healthcare reform information through video interviews with President and CEO of HNE, Peter Straley on YouTube.
• We send out regular health tips and information on topics from allergies to stress reduction to the widest audience possible.
• We solicit community feedback about our products and services and listen to our members about where we can improve and serve them better.

HNE wants to continue to be innovative and proactive in social networking. We are currently planning to offer:

• Online classes on a wide variety of topics
• An online community that will allow easy access to information on any health topic
• Online newsletters in an interactive discussion format
