Guy Talk by Steven

As a guy who has grown up in New England, I love the outdoors, especially this time of the year, with the leaves crunching beneath your feet and the crisp feel of the fall air. I think one of the best things that you can do to stay active in the fall is to get out and visit the local Berkshires. We are lucky enough to be within a short drive to the towns that folks from all over the US come to in the fall to catch a glimpse of the leaves changing colors, we seize that opportunity and explore.
Recently, I had this opportunity that fell on a very special birthday weekend that I share with my youngest son. My wife and kids surprised me for an adventure up to Berkshire East to cross an item off my “bucket list”! You may be thinking it was the zip lines, but nope, it’s the Thunderbolt, North America’s longest mountain coaster… what’s a mountain coaster you ask? Well, and this is not intended to be a full length review but, it’s one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. The Thunderbolt opened in October this year, it’s a rollercoaster ride on the side of the ski mountain. The initial accent is 1580’ up the mountain, in a simple, but high-tech cart, and then it’s all up to how fast you want to go, what your body can handle and gravity to wind you down the 3850’ decent back towards the lodge.
Let me just say, this is one amazing experience, something I think everyone should try, if you like rides, rollercoasters, or just love the feeling of being outdoors, this is a must try!
