Flu Season is Right Around the Corner – Get Vaccinated
Posted on September 29, 2022
Flu vaccination is very important for people 65 years and older because you are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), between 50 and 70 percent of seasonal flu-related hospitalizations in the United States occur in people 65 years and older. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chance that you will get the flu. In addition, the flu vaccine is an important preventive tool for people with chronic health conditions. Another benefit of receiving the flu shot is that your illness may be milder if you do get sick. For more about the flu and the benefits of the flu vaccine, please visit www.cdc.gov/flu.
