FEEDING THE FRONTLINE

Exciting News! Health New England has arranged special food deliveries to local hospitals to show our gratitude to all the frontline health care workers who have been working endlessly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To date, we’ve had 142 lunches delivered to the frontlines at Baystate Mary Lane, Baystate Wing, Mercy Medical Center and Cooley Dickinson.
Jennifer Bailey, Patient Relations Specialist of Berkshire Medical Center, was thrilled with the sweet treat from Health New England. Her response to the cookie delivery that was distributed last week:
“I put these cookies in a basket during the evening/night shift and walked around our facility distributing them to whomever I met. I covered our entire main campus. They were so well received that now when the staff sees me they are looking to see if I am going to be doing cookie delivery again.”
This feedback thrills us that our small gesture made such an impact. We can’t wait to schedule the rest of our deliveries!
Here’s a look at the Feeding the Frontline effort by the numbers:
- 500 cookies delivered to all units at Berkshire Medical Center from Union Block Bakery on Wednesday, April 15.
- 33 lunches delivered to Baystate Wing from Monson’s Main Street Tavern on Friday, April 17.
- 19 lunches delivered to Baystate Mary Lane from Monson’s Main Street Tavern on Friday, April 17.
- 65 lunches delivered to Mercy Medical Center from Holyoke’s Delaney House/Log Cabin on Friday, April 17.
- 25 lunches delivered to Cooley Dickinson Hospital from Northampton’s HighBrow Wood Fired Kitchen + Bar on Wednesday, April 22.
- 70 meals scheduled for delivery from Westfield’s The Tavern to the 3rd shift at Baystate Noble on Saturday, April 25.
- Meals are scheduled to be delivered to Baystate Medical Center soon from Nadim’s who decided to match Health New England’s $500 donation through their Donate to a Hero fund.
