Explanation of Benefits Available on Member Portal

Managing Your Paperless Preferences
Health New England is happy to let you know about a recent change in how some health insurance information is being provided to members. As part of an ongoing effort to minimize our impact on the environment, Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) are now provided in electronic format on our secure member portal at my.HealthNewEngland.org and are no longer being automatically mailed to members.
The newly enhanced HNE member portal offers a user-friendly format for claim details and comprehensive information about coverage and member responsibility, among other enhancements. You can also group claims together for a consolidated view of related treatments.
You continue to have the ability to print an EOB from the Claims page on the member portal, but if you would still prefer to have your EOBs mailed to your home, you can follow one of two options to request it:
1) Log into the member portal at my.HealthNewEngland.org and follow these steps to change your communication preferences:
- In the left hand navigation, click the “Change my mailing preferences” link to get you to the Member Preferences page.
- On the Member Preferences page:
- Check the “Manage my Paperless Preferences” box.
- Check the “Send Me a Printed Copy” box to receive a hard copy of your Explanation of Benefits in the mail.
- Click “Save” before leaving the page. You will receive an email confirming your change.
2) Contact HNE Member Services at (413) 787-4004 or (800) 310-2835. For TTY/TTD, (800) 439-2370. Have your HNE ID card on hand when you call.
