Do you ever feel like:

- You don’t understand what HNE covers for your healthcare? Or
- You don’t even know how you are going to get to the doctor’s office?
Don’t worry. HNE has Care Coordinators (who speak English and Spanish) whose job it is to help you. Their names are Jeanette and Hector. They have years of experience helping people like you get the answers they are looking for. They are here to make sure you understand your insurance benefits and your doctor’s instructions. They will answer your questions themselves or find someone else who can answer your question. They will help you get the resources you need. They will also help you overcome any obstacles to getting to your doctor. Best of all, this help is totally free!
Jeanette says, “My job is about taking things that don’t make sense and helping people to understand. I put myself in the other person’s shoes and walk the walk with them. I find myself coaching people, saying, ‘Hey, listen! You can do this. This is how you do it.’ I love knowing that HNE believes that helping our members is our first priority!”
How to Get a Care Coordinator
You will be given a health survey when you first sign up for HNE’s MassHealth program. The survey has about 30 questions about your life and health. It is used to decide if you need a Care Coordinator or a more in-depth Case Manager.
You can also request a Care Coordinator by calling HNE’s Member Services at the number below. You can just call and ask for one. You can also call just to talk about a question or problem. Member Services may decide that a Care Coordinator is the best person to help you. For example, you may have trouble getting to your doctor’s visits. Depending on your health status, Jeanette or Hector might be able to help you apply to HNE or your doctor’s office for free transportation.
