In January 2009, I watched my youngest son graduate from college. As I waited patiently for his name to be called, I watched the procession of older students receive their degrees one after the other. Funny\u2026I thought\u2026they are the same age or even older than me (at least they appeared so).<\/p>\n
Slowly, I began to realize that I had no more excuses\u2026no more buts\u2026no more reasons for not going back to school myself. I thought about all the lectures with my own children through the years about how important having an education is.<\/p>\n
I like to compare my contemplations of going back to school to the children\u2019s book \u201cThe Little Engine That Could\u201d that states, \u201cI think I can, I think I can, I know I can.\u201d (or something like that) During my 1st session in the fall of 2009, I was tentatively optimistic that I could REALLY DO this thing called \u201ccollege.\u201d Then, I received my first \u2018A.\u2019 Then, my next and my next. And, here I am today, one year later still getting great marks knowing that I really can do this thing called \u201ccollege.\u201d<\/p>\n
My experience as a student has opened my eyes to a completely new world of possibilities that I never imagined! I have found my passion in psychology. I just needed to find my confidence to go back to school. My attitude, which I like to share with other students is, \u201cOne paper at a time!\u201d It\u2019s a healthy attitude when you are stressed, \u201cOne day at a time,\u201d or \u201cOne moment at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n
So what is your passion? Have you thought about going back to school but aren\u2019t sure if it\u2019s for you? Trust me if I can do it, you can too. Part of the leap means choosing the right school and the right program for the perfect fit.<\/p>\n
