And since tomato season is approaching, I thought I would share my tomato sauce recipe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easy and healthy! No olive oil needed!<\/p>\n<p>1 lb of tomatoes off the vine, peeled and seeded or<br \/>\n28 ounce can of tomatoes<\/p>\n<p>(See below link on how to core, peel, and seed a tomato.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/southernfood.about.com\/od\/tomatoes\/ss\/peeltomatoes.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/southernfood.about.com\/od\/tomatoes\/ss\/peeltomatoes.htm\" target=\"_blank\">southernfood.about.com\/od\/tomatoes\/ss\/peeltomatoes.htm<\/a>)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>14 ounces of water<br \/>\n3 cloves of garlic (peeled)<br \/>\n1 yellow onion (peeled and sliced into chunks)<br \/>\n6 basil leaves<br \/>\ndash of salt<br \/>\ndash of pepper<br \/>\ndash of hot pepper flakes<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Put all ingredients into a blender.<\/p>\n<p>Blend until smooth<\/p>\n<p>Cook in a large skillet on simmer for about an hour \u2013 or until your desired thickness<\/p>\n<p>Serve with your favorite pasta!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Nothing is better in the summer than tomatoes off the vine!
