Are you an “all or nothing” person?

I tend to be, and it often works against me when trying to accomplish a goal or task. If I start a diet plan and fail, having even just one potato chip, I say “well that’s that then” and give up. Instead of sticking with it and continuing on the journey, one small slip or step backward can totally derail me from accomplishing my goal.
Picture a child learning to walk and imagine them quitting because they fell down once. No one would be walking today if we had an all-or-nothing mind set as children. I’ve learned that if I can’t do something “perfectly” it’s okay. Don’t give up—just start from where you are. Make today the first day of the rest of your life and don’t be an all or nothing person.
