{"id":1894,"date":"2023-03-21T17:36:54","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T17:36:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/employer\/?p=1894"},"modified":"2023-03-21T17:41:31","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T17:41:31","slug":"new-cost-of-care-calculator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/employer\/2023\/03\/21\/new-cost-of-care-calculator\/","title":{"rendered":"Cost of Care Calculator Enhancements are Live"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Health New England\u2019s enhanced Cost of Care Calculator, powered by HealthSparq, is now live on the Member Portal at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/my.healthnewengland.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>my.healthnewengland.org<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The newly enhanced tool allows members to find information related to the following:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-233712 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/hnetalk.com\/broker\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/cost-of-care-calc.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"137\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Estimated cost-sharing liability<\/li>\n<li>Amounts accumulated toward deductible and\/or out-of-pocket maximum (MOOP)<\/li>\n<li>Price estimates that reflect actual negotiated rates for an item or service<\/li>\n<li>Out-of-network allowed amounts (if applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Details on what items or services are part of a bundled payment<\/li>\n<li>Notification of any prerequisite to coverage, such as prior authorization<\/li>\n<li>Plain language disclosures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The enhancements are part of the Transparency in Coverage (TiC) provision of the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2020 (CAA), which requires all health plans to make specific cost information available for an initial list of 500 shoppable services. The information is to be made available through an online self-service tool and in paper form, if requested. The tool can be used to compare prices and better estimate a member\u2019s potential out-of-pocket costs.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Getting Started<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Access this improved cost estimator tool by logging into your Health New England member portal account at\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.healthnewengland.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my.healthnewengland.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and click on the \u201cCost of Care Calculator\u201d icon.
