Understanding HNE billing:
Posted on April 9, 2013
Paying bills is not on anyone’s top-ten list of favorite things to do, but it is necessary. From time to time you may have billing issues. We’d like to offer some solutions to eliminate these issues:
#1: Please include the invoice stub(s) for each division (plan option) and indicate the amount that you would like applied to that account. HNE sometimes receives checks without invoice stubs for groups with multiple divisions, which leaves the HNE Accounting Department to make determinations. Including the invoice stubs and amounts will alleviate any ambiguity for our Accounting Department about where to apply payments.
#2: If you are mailing a check from a location or division and the check name on the upper left of the check is not related to the actual name of the group, please include the invoice stub for the correct group and division number. When the HNE Accounting Department receives a check without a stub and the name on the check is not related to the name of a group, the Accounting Department has a difficult time identifying where to apply the payment . This issue occurs with groups that have multiple locations.
#3: If there is a lapse in payment, a payment must be mailed or called in to avoid cancellation of coverage. There is a grace period of 30 days. During that period, we mail a first notice and then a second notice by certified mail. At this point you must submit a check payable in the full amount due to keep the account active. Once the group has been cancelled for non-payment, notices are issued to the member(s). If we receive certified payment, HNE will allow a one-time exception to reinstate a group after non-payment.
Please contact the HNE Accountinging Department at 413.233.3035 with any questions on your billing.
