Reminder about HSA Contribution Limit Change
Posted on April 9, 2018
On March 5, 2018, the IRS announced that the 2018 health savings account (HSA) contribution limit for families has been lowered to $6,850 from the previous limit of $6,900, effective immediately. The individual limit will remain $3,450. Due to upcoming legislation, there is a possibility that this change could be reversed or amended. We are aware that it is possible some members may have already contributed the previous maximum to their account. You have until the end of 2018 to remove these excess contributions for them, and members have until April 15, 2019, to remove any funds individually. HealthEquity will be following future developments and will share information as it becomes available.
