Quickstart Guide launched to help members
Posted on October 11, 2016
Beginning in November, Health New England will be launching a new welcome kit for members. When we mail ID cards out to new or renewing* members, we will include a welcome letter and Quickstart Guide, which gives helpful tips for members to get the most from their health plans.
The Quickstart Guide will be available for all commercial members – fully funded and self-funded – and will give members the basic steps to help them get started with their health plan. This four-step guide explains the importance of primary care providers, the benefits of staying in network, information on how to use the ID card and options for after-hours care, including Teladoc and Nurse Line.
To help members with self-service, the Quickstart Guide also explains how to register on the Health New England member portal, my.healthnewengland.org. It highlights the features members can take advantage of on the member portal, from reviewing claims and benefit information to printing a temporary ID card and accessing the Cost of Care calculator. It also reminds eligible members about Teladoc and wellness reimbursements.
Lastly, our new welcome kit reminds members that we are always here to help, and that they can call Member Services Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with any questions, or visit us on the web at healthnewengland.org.
We know that health care can be confusing and we hope that members will find the Quickstart Guide helpful in understanding their coverage and all the benefits that are available to them.
*Renewing members will only receive the Quick Start guide if they make a change in their plan or covered dependents, resulting in the need for new ID cards.
